Retreat Report Part 2

Day 2 of 1st BAMQG Retreat:  Saturday

The eager retreat go-ers started the day off early with the introduction to the next guild charity block by Deborah and Jennifer.  Then Peggy did a demo of her fantastic quilt-as-you-go string block which will be used in the next charity block effort.  Kits were made and quickly devoured by eager Klippie Mania participants!

After the demo, some retreat go-ers decided to take a field trip: some went to Hart’s Fabric in Santa Cruz (just a quick 20 minute drive), others went to Natural Expressions (a quick 10 minute walk).  After helping out the economy and bringing back some more beautiful fabrics, everyone got back to work on charity quilt-as-you-go string blocks and their own projects.  By the end of the weekend, 25 postage stamp blocks and 40 string blocks were completed!

The group took a quick break to do a quilty word search game and Mel came away the winner with the fastest word searching and won a fantastic book.

The group all got together for a relaxing dinner at California Cafe, just across the bridge from our retreat location.  The food was really yummy, the service was good and the views were wonderful!  Some people enjoyed the desserts more than others!  Before the food was served, the retreat committee surprised our inaugural leader, Rhonda, with thank you gifts for a great job chairing the retreat committee.

The night ended with a pajama party and we sewed the night away!
